The market is going to continue to go up. Many people are talking about a market crash, but that’s just not going to happen in 2022. The debate about the market will keep eyes and ears on real estate, which is great for agents. It’s a great market and a great industry to be in.

Even if the market does start to go down, real estate agents will win. People will be selling their homes and investing in real estate. People will be buying their first home. The market will continue to move. I got into real estate in 2012, the worst market of all time in Connecticut’s history. I was at the bottom, and people were on their way out of the industry within my first year. I was able to get over 50 listings during my first 18 months, and I was able to make six figures in my first year. You can do the same thing in a down market. Whether the market is going up or down, you’re going to win either way when you’re a real estate agent.

COVID taught us that real estate is indestructible. I don’t care what technology comes out. I don’t care what happens at the end of the day. People need a place to live, and the last couple of years have taught us that the home people are in is more important than ever. People are going to spend a lot of time there. People are going to work from home. People are going to raise their families no matter what. Shelter is the one thing technology cannot duplicate. I don’t care if you’re going to live in Facebook’s Metaverse world. At the end of the day, people need a place to live. Real estate is unbeatable for those reasons.

When you get into real estate, you’re going to meet potential investors that you could become partners with down the road. You’re going to meet business owners that you might partner with. You’re going to meet a whole bunch of amazing people that want to buy, sell and invest in real estate. Finally, you can create referral opportunities that are now an annuity for you for years and years to come. So meeting people is the fourth reason you want to get into real estate right now.

Maybe most important is you can take control of your life. You can create so many opportunities for yourself by taking control of your job. You’re not going to meet a whole bunch of people and create opportunities for yourself in the typical nine to five job unless you’re with a really creative company. When you become a realtor, you’re now controlling what you can become, how much money you can earn, and how many people you can impact.

I encourage everybody to get into real estate right now. Stop thinking about it. I thought about it for far too long before finally taking the chance and going into real estate full time. So get your license and start as soon as you possibly can. 2022 will be great for so many agents putting in the work, and I hope you will be one of them.
