I’m going share a story that I don’t actually think I’ve told anybody.
There have been times in the last seven years that I have gotten so busy with my business – so incredibly busy with all of the different things that I want to implement, all the different systems I want to work on, all of the new ventures that I want to go after.
I’ve gotten so busy that I’ve gotten to a point where I have such an extensive checklist that I have actually said in my head, Man, I wish I could, I wish I could have time saved up in my back pocket. Like a magic button and just press pause on the entire world.
Where for 24 hours, everything stops spinning. You step outside and cars are stopped exactly where they were on the road. People are stopped on the sidewalks. Everything is on pause – except for you.
You are the only one moving around so that you can catch up on all those things you want to get accomplished.
Every single day, we – all of us – are ambitious people. Every day, we work incredibly hard. Even working long hours, we know we’re not going to be able to get everything on our list done.
“The real enemy of our execution is our day jobs. It’s the whirlwind: the massive amount of energy necessary just to keep your operation going on a day to day basis. And ironically, it’s the same thing that makes it so hard to execute anything new. “ – The 4 Disciplines of Execution
That’s where my desire came from, to just press pause on the world every once in a while.
Right now, I have actually gotten my wish. Certainly not in the way I imagined it. But it has happened.
The world has gone on pause.
As entrepreneurs, team leaders, and business owners, we can view it as a disaster.
Or as an opportunity.
We all have that to-do list that we plan to get to “when we have the time.”
Well, this is it. We have been given the time for everything that we’ve built up on our to-do list and everything we’ve wanted to implement.
Do not be the person right now that squanders this period of time. We have a very unique opportunity to get way ahead of the game. With the actions you take during this time, you can ensure that coming out of it, your business will thrive.
