I heard an agent the other day say, ‘Well, I’m working something, but it’s going to be a goal for me next year.’
My question is:
What’s the point in waiting?
I consider October the start of my new year. It’s the only way to get ahead, especially in real estate.
So with the new year already underway, take the time now to do the following:
Get Your First Win
Take the time to evaluate your morning routine. If you have been neglecting it, start again. If your routine feels stale or it feels like you are just going through the motions, take the time to restructure what you do every morning so that once completed, you are energized and excited.
A morning routine sets you up for success. Every day, it’s all about getting that first win on the board. Every time you decide to snooze the alarm and stay in bed, you start with a loss. On the flip side, every time you rise with the alarm and start your day in a meaningful way, you start with a win, setting the momentum for the rest of the day.
Stay Disciplined
Ignoring the discipline that you crave so much, well….you know how that feels.
Now that you have restructured your morning routine, lean into discipline to keep you going. There will always be tasks you don’t feel like completing. When you stay disciplined and follow-through, it creates a sense of accomplishment and pushes you closer toward your goals.
Create Your Vision
Are you clear about what you want to accomplish by the end of 2021? 2031? 2041?
The discipline you implement now will help you reach all of those goals. But if you don’t know where you are headed, you’ll quickly lose that discipline.
Over the next two weeks, review your 10-year and 20-year visions, along with your 2021 business plan, budget, and marketing plan.
Do not fall into the patterns of others that are going to wait until December or January. Start today.
There are going to be a lot of people who accomplish incredible things in your industry in 2021. What are you doing now to make sure you are one of those people?
