Patrick Bet-David is a highly successful entrepreneur and brilliant salesperson. So when he posted a video titled The Unspoken Code Amongst Realtors, I had to find out what he was telling consumers. Watch my entire reaction here:

Patrick Bet-David’s recent YouTube video gives advice to consumers on how to deal with realtors when looking to buy real estate. Bet-David tells consumers to pay attention to the relationship between their realtor and the realtor who is representing the other party. He states in the video this ‘realtor team’ is stronger than the team you have with your listing agent or buyer’s agent. He also notes that a lot of agents won’t like hearing what he has to say.
Here’s a quick rundown of my thoughts:
I think he’s dead on. And here’s the punchline for agents: you should be creating strong relationships with other real estate agents in your market.
Not so you can get more out of the commission from this one deal, but so you can provide the best service to your clients, which will result in more referrals down the road.
Every interaction that you have with another agent, within the community: it’s not a time to be combative, it’s a time to build a relationship because your ability to help your client in the future is going to rely on those relationships.

You want to have as many relationships with other agents as you can, because these relationships will bring value to your future clients. Your ability to work with the top agents in your community and know that you can get a deal done is valuable. It’s valuable in this market when there are 20 offers on one home, and it’s valuable in a down market when there are zero to two offers.
