So here we are—four months into BAM.
Each week, I’m recapping my experiences running two companies: Broke Agent Media and The One Team. This is a venture I want to share every step of the way – what’s working, what throws us off our game, and the lessons we learn along the way.
Preparation For The Inaugural BAM Bash
The BAM Bash is set to take place on August 23, 2022, from 6:00–9:00 pm, the first evening of the Tom Ferry Success Summit. It will take place at The Canvas Hotel’s Gallery Rooftop Lounge.
We’ve been talking to tons of new sponsors, communicating with venues, and ensuring important contributors attend our first-ever kickoff party.
I’ve never enjoyed event planning, but it’s exciting to know that in a few weeks, we’ll get face-to-face with the people who’ve been following BAM since the beginning.
Batching Content
As Eric and I discussed in this week’s episode of the Byron Lazine Podcast, real estate conferences are perfect for recording content that will last. I’m still using content from the last conference I went to in January, and a clip from that got almost 900k views when I posted it last week.
Recording long-form content enables you to get a lot of short-form pieces that can be used and reposted for months. We have our very own “content house” at an Airbnb in Dallas for the week of the Tom Ferry Summit and BAM Bash. While there, we’ll do several big interviews and an entire day dedicated to filming.
Risky New Segment on The Real Word
If you’ve been following The Real Word Podcast over the years, you have seen a few iterations in how we produce the segments to ensure we keep delivering on the show as we evolve as hosts.
This new segment, ‘Left, Middle, Right,’ comes with a bit of risk because we are dancing around what scares the hell out of most people – politics.
What we’re not doing is sharing our own political beliefs or taking sides on political issues.
Instead, we’re reacting to the headlines in politics that real estate entrepreneurs and agents must know to have intelligent conversations around someone’s biggest financial asset – their home.
Whether you are Left, Middle, or Right behind closed doors, this segment will give you major takeaways you can use in your business immediately.
The One Team Killing it with Deals AND Content
The One Team is the other business I lead, and it has been #1 in sales for the entire state of Connecticut all year. This month, agents on the team reached over 550 units sold, which is already better than the entire year last year.
What I’m proudest of is the ability of these agents to put out consistent content while doing so much business.
Oftentimes, agents will start to do a lot of deals and forget about their brand. Our agents are not relaxing on their content output because it’s the most important thing they can do right now. I’ve been seeing three to five posts a day on The One Team Instagram, which is an impressive stat for any team, especially the one that’s #1 in sales.
How To Deal With Unexpected Blows
Even when things are going really well, something will always break. On Tuesday’s 5AM Call, I shared a story about what to do when things don’t go your way. I woke up last week thinking I would sell my relatively new car before the market for them dropped off. I had paid cash for it, wrote it off on my taxes, and I was excited to get a large return on it. En route to the dealership, I hit a deer.
Instead of letting this setback ruin my day, I learned to let it go and adjust my mindset. Listen to the full episode to discover my business and life tactics to adapt when things go wrong.
Next week is sure to bring more excitement—and pitfalls. Be sure to check back for the complete rundown!
