Balance doesn’t mean you have to spend the same amount of time and energy on all areas of your life.
At times, balance may be working on your business more.
Other times, you need to spend more time on yourself.
I’ve talked recently about making the most of this time and doing all the things on your to-do list that never get done.
But before you can tackle all of those work goals, you have to make sure you are ready mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Check in with the reality of YOUR situation.
Everyday, your situation will change. Do you need to be there to support your family? Do you need to take care of yourself? Do you have the time to tackle that to-do list? Every day, check in to see where you can spend your time and energy.
Create a Routine
Even with things changing as quickly as they are, create a routine that you can stick to daily. This can include a morning routine, fitness routine, or meal routine. Time block your day so you are clear on times you are working, time you are spending with family, and downtime.
Be ready to adjust.
Being able to adapt and adjust is the biggest indicator for longevity. We’ve seen countless small businesses pivot and completely reinvent how they do business. From restaurants who turned into grocery stores, to fitness studios creating an online schedule, everyone is innovating. With the technology that we have, adjusting is both necessary and possible.
I understand how difficult this time is right now. We all know people who won’t utilize this time and will begin to fall further and further behind – in all areas of life. Using this time to check in, readjust, and tackle new challenges will keep you moving forward.
