It’s a big world, filled with entrepreneurs and real estate agents.
Which means someone out there is doing your business better than you.
They could be on the other side of the country, in your state, or even in your market.
In the entrepreneurial world, there will always be fierce competition. As a real estate agent, someone is negotiating, recruiting, marketing, advertising, and operating at a higher level than you. And at any point, someone can walk in and do the very same thing you are doing – only better.
Instead of worrying about someone being better than you, here are five things you can to stay committed to YOUR growth.
Get Clear on Your Goals
Before you start comparing yourself to others, get clear on your ambitions. What do you want to accomplish in the next 1, 5, 10 years? Your goals will differ from other people. When you know what your goals are, you will be less distracted by what other people are doing.
Use Competition as Fuel
Knowing there will always be someone more experienced and more skilled usually impacts people one of two ways:
They either stop pursuing their goals out of fear, or
They use the competition as fuel.
Instead of thinking, ‘I’ll never be able to do that,’ tune in to what you admire about high performers. Use that as inspiration to level up in your own business.
Remain Focused
While some competitive inspiration can be incredible motivation, your goals are the only ones that should matter to you. Keep your goals in front of you all year, so when your mind starts to go off track, you can return to what’s most important to you.
Compound Consistency
You must work toward your goals every day. By implementing daily habits and remaining consistent, your small, daily actions will compound, leaving you with big results at the end of the year.
Surround Yourself with the People You Admire Most
We’ve all heard it before:
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
Jim Rohn
Just because you are an entrepreneur, doesn’t mean you have to do everything alone. Reach out to the people who are doing business better than you. Start a mastermind or accountability group. By sharing what you are doing, and learning from those you admire, you will all be able to level up and reach your goals.
